There aren't many people in the video production business that have been around as long as I have. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Graphic Design, I began working with my local Public Television station as a staff artist. But my real interest was in filmmaking, and as soon as the TV station acquired a used Arriflex camera, I moved into shooting film.
After several years, video cameras began to become more portable and the TV station phased out film shooting. But by that time, I'd learned quite a bit about all phases of television production, so they moved me into the Production Department as a Producer/Director. I produced and directed all sorts of educational and public service programming, live concerts, sports, call-in shows, you name it, I did it. I also doubled as the Production Supervisor during my last few years at the TV station.
From there, I moved into the corporate production world, taking a Producer position with Virginia Power's video department. There I produced and directed informational, training, and motivational videos for company employees, and also several community service pieces for the United Way. It was at Virginia Power that I began scriptwriting as well as producing and directing.
After Virginia Power initiated a massive downsizing and all of us video people were pushed out the door, I landed at Metro Video Productions as a writer/producer/director. During my years with Metro, I wrote, produced, and directed hundreds of videos and interactive multimedia pieces for Fortune 500 corporations, the military and other government agencies, and colleges and universities.
Now, as a freelancer, I offer my experience to you. I can work with clients directly, or through the production company of your choice. Check out my demo, give me a call, or shoot me an email. I look forward to working with you.
